Meet Dr. Melanie Thares (St. Cloud, MN)

Dr. Melanie Thares grew up in the Saint Cloud, Minnesota area and graduated from Saint Cloud Technical High School.

Following graduation, she attended the College of Saint Benedict / Saint John’s University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.

Also, while completing her degree, she had the opportunity to study abroad in both Spain and the Galapagos Islands. She then went on to complete her Doctorate degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Thares practices comprehensive optometry including focuses in surgical co-management, ocular disease, contact lenses, and vision rehabilitation.

Dr. Thares is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Optometric Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Thares enjoys spending her time listening to live music, hiking, crafting, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her family. Dr. Thares has been to 4 of the 7 continents and has a goal to be able to travel to all of them some day.
